The brand name is derived from a colloquial term for a well-dressed, street-smart individual, reflecting its mission to provide stylish, premium apparel that resonates with local “kasi” culture and modern urban trends. Originally established to offer affordable yet fashionable menswear to township communities, Klevas has evolved into a diverse label featuring sneakers, sandals, and casual wear—such as jackets, t-shirts, and knitwear—known for blending local influence with modern simplicity. Under the leadership of Suliman Saloojee, the company has expanded its influence through nationwide distribution and online platforms, while also securing the licensing rights for the Italian brand Diadora in South Africa.
